      The so-called “ Gruel Science Fiction” (softer than soft science fiction) initiated by Xia Jia is mainly characterized by its newfangled and baroque narrative style，intertexuality narration serves as the the starting point for her creation work. Her famous fiction“ the Bottle Imprisoning the Goblin” illustrates a story where Maxwell (a physicist) succeeds in defeating the goblin by using an experiment，the narration embodied in the fiction is both full of humor and of interest, where we can sense the author’s confidence and veneration towards the scientific exploration spirit from the humanbeings. Based on the intertextuality narration of“ Tales from A thousand and One Night”and“ Faust”，the fiction succeeds in transforming a grand tragedy in which intellectuals try to explore the scientific and humanistic spirit into an entertaining and humorous folk tale.
