      晚清时期，西方传教士是向国人进行科学启蒙的主力军，他们翻译的物理教科书传播科学知识、科 学方法和学术分科的理念，抵制封建迷信，培养了早期的科技人才，促进了维新思想的形成。虽然这些教科 书也存在物理学科体系不够明确、科学精神中渗透宗教思想等问题，但其在中国近代社会转型和物理教育、 物理教科书发展史上仍具有重要地位，应引起国人的重视。

英文摘要:

      Western missionaries in the late Qing Dynasty were the main force for promoting scientific enlightenment in China. Their translated physics textbooks helped to disseminate scientific knowledge， scientific methods and academic concepts，to repel feudalism and superstition，to train early scientists and technicians，and to fuel the birth of newly enlightening thoughts. Although there remain some defects for those textbooks，for example，the discipline system of physics is not clearly enough and infiltration of religious thoughts in scientific spirit is still there，they still play an important role in the transformation of modern Chinese society and the development history of physical education and physics textbooks，which should be treasured by the Chinese people.
